After 33 years of maturation in refill ex-bourbon hogshead cask, Adelphi have bottled this whisky at the peak of its maturation, with an expressive aroma and flavour of rich tropical fruit character, spices from the bazaar and exotic woods. Papaya, ripe mango and candied grapefruit notes give a feeling of livelyness uncommon of a whisky of this age. The shades of fruit and spices are carried on a richly mouth-coating texture, lingering flinty and mineralic. Adelphi's selection from the Mortlach distillery are legendary - this example is one of many reasons why.

This single malt Scotch Whisky was distilled at Mortlach Distillery, Speyside, on the 14th of May 1991. The new spirit was filled into a first fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, Cask number 4241, where it remained until its bottling in 2023

A lovely, deep gold in colour, the 32 years in the cask have created a beautifully rich liquid with sweet barley sugar, ripe prunes and hints of unburned tobacco. The mouthfeel is luscious and expansive with a long, satisfying finish. The colour of the whisky reflects only the natural impact from the cask during maturation.

From Highland distillery Mortlach, this whisky has been maturing in Virgin Oak, Tawny Port, and Red Muscat casks. This whisky has notes of sweet fruits, ginger and subtle spiciness, which leads into a long finish.

This Mortlach has been finished ex Kanosuke Japanese Whisky Casks, and ex Pinot Noir casks

The result is a rather fruity and spicy nose for Mortlach, with elements of ripe pears and melon along with notes of boiled sweets and savoury notes of leather and spice. A splash of water introduces drier notes of almonds and wood shavings.

The Palate is rich, matching fruitiness with savoury undertones and drying spice. A Touch of water helps balance the spice and develop the sweeter notes.

Maturing for 13 years in refill and virgin oak casks this whisky from Mortlach has been bottled at cask strength of 55.9%. On the nose there are meaty and woody notes, which develop into savory spices. Vanilla sweetness is also found with gentle woody notes. The finish is long and lingering with a dryness to it.

This Mortlach 25 year old is part of Gordon & MacPhail's famous 'distillery label' series, with selected distilleries who entrust the Urquhart family to carefully mature and bottle their spirit. This Mortlach offers rich and complex flavours - macerated rum-soaked raisin notes, beeswax polish and a subtle note of meaty, savoury qualities. The palate has a taste of stewed summer berries along with cloves, cinnamon and a zesty hint of orange peel. A very fine old single malt from the great Mortlach distillery.
