The cask's influence is immediately apparent on the nose, with notes of boozy fruitcake and rich chocolate reaching out of the glass coupled with hints of creamy vanilla. Stewed sultanas and zesty orange peel coat the palate, balanced wonderfully with spicy tones of cracked pepper and oak, leading to a vibrant and fruity finish.
