Whiskies from the 1950's

Production of whisky in the 1950's saw a slow return to pre-war levels, along with the construction of a small handful of the distilleries in the later part of the decade. Whisky from this era is still produced primarily from in-house floor maltings, a process that began to be phased out in the coming years.

The supply of casks from this era remain few and far between, with only a handful of distilleries in Scotland still having any whisky at all from this decade.
