Ben Nevis 'Ross - Macbeth' 28 years old 50.4%

Ross is a rather slippery character, with shifting allegiances in the struggle for power. While he eventually helps overthrow Macbeth, his interests still lie in himself.  Ross is also a survivor, he protects himself through shifting his alliances as  he sees fit.  Ben Nevis distillery was chosen by the folk at Elixir to portray Ross in spirit form. The distillery sits alone at the foot of its namesake mountain, outliving all of its neighbors. It's full bodied character and oily quality mimics the sliperiness of Ross's character. There is a characteristic dried meat quality, alongside mixed nuts, hints of earthiness and smoke, while slow maturation for 28 years in refil hogshead has allowed the fatty, fruit forward distillate to shine through and linger long on the finish.
