Blair Athol 'BBR' 2013 / 12 years old #303635 57.3%

In a first from BBR, this Blair Athol had its final maturation in a cask that originated from the famous red wine appellation of Pomerol in Bordeaux. The influence of the cask is immediately obvious, with ripe raspberries, and damson plum flavours. Though the cask profile is quite strong, it's still unmistakably Blair Athol, with a meaty and earthy tone, and a hint of struck matches and an oily palate.
