This 27 year old blended malt of unknown origin is an example of a 'teaspooned whisky,' where small amounts of whisky from one distillery is blended with whisky from another to form a blended malt. This expression has been bottled from a selection of ex Bourbon Hogsheads and presented at cask strength. On the nose there are notes of custard cream biscuits, pears dusted with cinnamon and butterscotch mousse on warm pastry. Notes of sweet oatcakes, honeycomb, nutmeg spice and ripe gooseberries coat the palate, with a sweet and slightly herbal finish of white grapes, treacle, fresh mint leaves and ginger root.
