This limited-edition release from Loch Lomond was distilled in 2010 in a mixture of Loch Lomond’s distinct straight necked stills, as well as their more traditional swan necked stills. It was bottled in partnership with 2010 St Andrew’s Open winner Louis Oosthuizen and released in 2022, the year of the 150th anniversary of the Open at St Andrews.
The spirit was aged in three types of American Oak casks, which alongside the use of Loch Lomond’s signature stills, combined result in Loch Lomond’s signature style of sweet soft fruits, vanilla, and hints of smoke.
The nose is lovely and light, dominated by notes of lemon and floral lavender, with gentle hints of malty biscuit sweetness rounding everything off.
The palate is classic Loch Lomond, gentle wafts of smoke are married wonderfully with sweet notes of poached pears, stewed peaches, and rich vanilla. Rounded off with a lingering finish of dry cedar wood, sugared almonds and natural vanilla pods.
