This blended whisky from Mars Distillery has been bottled at 40%. This special release has been finished in Chateau Mars Casks from the Mars Yamanashi Winery after being matured in a mix of Sherry, Bourbon and American White Oak casks. The nose has notes of orange peel, chocolate and floral and fruity notes. On the palate there are notes of vanilla, honey, caramel and a red wine character.
Aged in a combination of ex Bourbon and ex Sherry casks, 'Cosmo' is the name of a mountain in the Japanese Central Alps close to the Mars Whisky Distillery. It has a bright colour with a sweet aroma of ripe fruits and sweet spices. There are flavours of vanilla custard, honey and caramel to taste, finishing with notes of cinnamon and a hint of smoke.
Nikka Days was created based on the concept of a "whisky for every day". A delicate balance is achieved by the blending of mellow grain whiskies and slightly peated malts. With bold and apparent floral aromas, this expression offers an extremely silky mouthfeel and fruity flavors that rise and expand, leaving behind a delightful aftertaste. An ideal 'everyday' dram.
Nestled in the mountains of Sendai, Miyagikyo distillery is a softer, less peaty style in comparison to its sister distillery, Yoichi. This single malt is full of floral fruitiness balanced by a rich sherry cask influence. A great introduction to the distillery. Established in 1934, the Yoichi distillery's coastal location on the northern island of Hokkaido was chosen by Masataka Taketsuru due to the climate there more closely resembling that of Scotland than any other area in Japan. Taketusuru studied for many years in Scotland and brought his knowledge back to Japan, even featuring the likes of traditional coal fired stills in his distilleries. The whisky has an earthy smokiness on the palate which balances delicately with oak spice and nutty characters. Soft fruit and a distinct coastal note make this is a robust savoury dram worth trying. Named after the inventor of the distillation method, Aneas Coffey (pronounced kofee), this whisky is the product solely from the Coffey stills at the Miyagikyo distillery. Exotic and fruity on the nose with an abundance of tropical fruit, there are touches of vanilla pod and honey on the rich and mouthcoating palate. This is the first time we've stocked a grain whisky from Japan and we're extremely proud to have this unique whisky on our shelves. Distilled at the Miyagikyo distillery in the 'Coffey' (pronounced co-fee) stills which produce a light, clean and soft spirit. Distilled entirely from malted barley, this is a sweet and fruity dram with notes of banana and a rich aroma of fresh home made vanilla ice-cream. The finish is short and subtly spiced (white pepper) and drying. A fantastic new addition to our range of Japanese whiskies.

Mature malt and grain whiskies from Nikka's various distilleries have been blended and then re-casked together for a period to allow the whiskies to further integrate and develop. Notes of pineapple, wood varnish and a strong oak influence from the Japanese white oak casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 51.4% - a sensational example of the Japanese whisky style.
Carefully blended whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries make up this Taketsuru, and carries the distinctive oaky hallmark of Japanese malt whiskies. The nose is fresh and lively, with a soft fruityness from the use of sherry casks, which is joined with a touch of nuts and gentle smoke in the background. Created by Nikka to replace the 'Nikka 12', this new expression is a combination of both Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries. The bottle represents the tradition of the distilleries, displaying the golden emblem designed by the founder, Masataka Taketsuru, for his first ever release. A rich and malty whisky with an abundance of orchard fruits on the palate is balanced by a soft sweet toffee note and lingering spicy fruit cake.
The Hakushu distillery was founded in 1973 by Suntory, and up until recently has seldom been seen outside of Japan. The nose is light with cooked pears, herbal and grassy tones and a subtle, warming waft of peat smoke. An excellent example of the slightly smoky tones found in some Japanese whiskies.
Produced from a combination of different aged casks and styles of wood from the Hakushu distillery, the Distillers Reserve is a light and delicately smoky style of Japanese whisky. Grassy, herbal and fruity with a whiff of smoke in the background, this is a light and very easy drinking single malt whisky.
The word 'Hibiki' means 'resonance' in Japanese. This whisky, housed in a 24 faceted bottle, is supposed to represent the 24 seasons of the Japanese calender. On the nose: tropical fruitiness with floral undertones and a delicate woodspice. On the palate: honeyed sweetness, with a candied citrus edge. Please note:
This whisky has been matured in oak barrels for 12 years. It has notes of orange peel and walnuts on the nose, which moves to a fruity palate with highlights of apple and white grapes.
The Kurayoshi Pure Malt has softly refreshing notes complimented with notes of malt. This whisky then develops into a balanced acidity, with a subtle bitterness and sweetness from raisins. Notes of nuts and vanilla are also found on the palate.
Aged for over 3 years and followed by another period of time maturing in sherry casks, this whisky from the Kurayoshi distillery has a flavour of sherried raisins, chocolate and lemongrass on a smooth and rounded texture. A mellow dram from the Tottori prefecture on Honshu, Japan.
This blended whisky form Mars Shinshu Distillery has been aged in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry and American white oak casks. This whisky is soft and gentle, with notes sweet pear and dark cacao. The palate offers up notes of dried fig, ginger cookies and honey milk.
This Japanese whisky from Kurayoshi Distillery has been matured in Japanese oak casks, called Mizunara. This single malt has slightly bitter notes, complimented with gently sweet notes which develops into a rich lingering finish. Bottled at 43%.
