Balmenach 'Thompson Bros' 2013 / 10 years old 48.5%

An excellent example of the little-known Balmenach distillery, bottled by the Thompson Bros. On the nose, a nutty scent of roasted hazelnut joins cocoa powder, pecan pie and dark chocolate. To taste, there are lots of jammy dark fruits, with sticky dates, figs and plums joining an earthy dunnage warehouse vibe. Nutty and chocolatey on the finish, with spicy fig jam and cinnamon.
