Bottled from a single refill Hogshead cask, this Caol Ila expression from Douglas Laing & Co is unmistakeably an Islay beast. The nose carries notes of sweet peat, along with Caol Ila's characteristic coastal nature, and dirty coal soot. The Palate offers notes of spun sugar, coal smoke, dry firewood embers and burnt toast. The palate is rather sweet compared to the nose and initial palate, with candied like sweetness, becoming drier and spicier towards the end
