This expression is part of parcel #11 of the Single Malts of Scotland 'Reserve Casks' series, distilled at Caol Ila distillery in 2013, this bottling was matured for ten years in a small parcel of three Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The nose is rich, with aromas of leather, soft dates, and smoky bacon with cherry jam. On the palate there are initial flavours of sultanas and stewed fruits, which give way to rich wood fire smoke and bitter dark chocolate. The chocolate notes linger on though the finish, evolving with the smoke.
