Dalmunach 'North Star' 2016 / 6 years old 56.4%

This six year old release, bottled by North Star Spirits of Glasgow is the first expression from Dalmunach distillery that we have seen. A rather new distillery, Dalmunach was built in 2014 on the site of the old Imperial distillery in Carron, Speyside. This bottling has been matured in a refil oak cask, before undergoing a finish in a ex Ruby Port barrel. The result is a wonderfully rich and warming dram, with underlying spiced fruit and tannin notes.
