This expression, distilled at Fettercairn in 2012 and bottled by Douglas Laing & Co in 2022, from a single refill Hogshead cask is a slightly richer and more oaky expression than we would expect from a distillery bottling. While being rather light in colour, the nose is rather big. Notes of sweet homemade red berry jam, and dry spice. The mouthfeel is lovely, rich and mouth-coating, with notes of zesty spice, gentle sweet oak and warm lemony cough drops. The notes linger on through the finish, before a lovely creamy and malty finish takes over.
