This expression was distilled at Longmorn distillery in 2008 before being laid down in a parcel of Gordon and Macphail's own casks. it was matured for a total of fifteen years before being cut to a strength of 46%. This whisky is both unchillfiltered and of natural colour.

Coming in at 68.2%, this is a very powerful dram, and not just in strength. There is a dense richness of blackberry compote, caramel sauce on top of vanilla ice cream and a slightly smoky, leathery tone. A loud crack of mace, clove and spice brings a constant presence of heat and warmth. Enjoy as you please, but the addition of water here is highly recommended with something this robust.

Bottled by Signatory Vintage from a single ex-Bourbon barrel, this offering shows the lighter, delicate and more floral expression from the Linkwood distillery. While each cask is unique, this style of Linkwood typically offers notes of orange (crepe suzette), vanilla cake and honeyed tones. A not-so-secret bottling from a famous distillery on the Orkney Isles (HP), this single cask expression was matured for 18 years in an ex-Oloroso Sherry Butt. There is a typical waxy note found in whiskies of this age from this particular distillery, along with notes of heather honey and oatcakes, along with the faintest whiff of coastal peat smoke. A brand-new release from Elixir distillers and their Port Askaig range, selected from American oak casks that have allowed for a slow and gentle maturation of 17 years. While the source of this whisky is kept secret, there are distinct notes of ham, melon and citrus that is common to a northern Islay distillery. The mellow, medicinal peat smoke shows salty minerality, joining herbaceous tones and red fruit sweetness.

The peat character of this is remarkably Islay-like, with a rich earthy smoke, ginger spice, and amazingly even a hint of coastal, farmyard aromas. A standout example of the non-Islay peated style.

This is the latest core expression to join the Port Askaig range, a soft sweet and peaty 8 year old from an undisclosed distillery on Islay. Matured entirely in refill American oak, it is fresh and vibrant on the nose with lemon oil, salty sea spray and a soft ashy smoke. More citrus on the palate with smoked fish and that classic Islay peat reek. A honeysuckle sweetness and slight herbal note balances out this dram before leading into a long barley sugar finish. A great introduction to the world of Islay malts.
